Sean Entin: CEO, Podcast Host

On the morning of November 25, 2011, at age 39, Sean Entin had a stroke from a massive blood clot in his carotid artery. After surgery to repair his artery, he was put into a medically induced coma for one week. Almost two months later, Sean was transported by ambulance from Santa Barbara to San Diego to Sharp Grossmont in-patient Rehab, where he spent the next 6 weeks in intensive physical, occupational and speech therapy. Sean had to learn to walk again on his own and regain his strength.

Prior to the stroke, Sean was working as an entrepreneur and business development expert who has guided world-class enterprises to sustainable profitability. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Administration from University of Southern California, Sean went on to found several companies in the entertainment industry including the commercial media company, Zen Management. In addition, he played an integral role in the development of Los Angeles Center Studios — a multi-use office and production facility that continues to help revitalize the west side of downtown Los Angeles.

In 2009, Sean Entin became co-founder, managing director, and the Chief Marketing Officer for Greenhouse Holdings, Inc. (GRHU). At GURHU, he developed and implemented the company’s international marketing strategies, as well as raising capital and managing the investor relations responsible for taking GRHU public. In March of 2012, GRHU was acquired by Premier Alliance, where he is still a shareholder.

Since the stroke, Sean has worked hard to improve his physical and mental health and continues to push himself with the mantra “I can. I shall. I will.” During his ongoing rehabilitation, he has met incredible people who also have suffered traumatic brain injuries, but unfortunately did not have the quality of medical care Sean has been lucky to have. This inspired Sean to create the “Move 2 Improve Foundation” (M2I) now known as the BRAINetwork, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing outpatient physical and psychological rehabilitation and community reentry services for those with acquired and traumatic brain injuries. Today at least 5.3 million Americans, 2% of the U.S. population, currently live with disabilities resulting from a TBI (traumatic brain injury). Sean has seen, first hand, the urgent need to support these individuals, their families and communities by providing access to and funding for crucial, on-going rehabilitation services.

Sean didn’t stop there.

In early 2018 while training to complete his first 5k race since his stroke, Sean launched the “Strokehacker” community on Facebook which provides a network for stroke survivors so they can share their stories, accomplishments and tips for improving their health and overall wellness.  The page currently has thousands of followers who spend “5 Minutes with Seany” and connect with each other to share resources. The momentum of this forum drove him to partner up with Taylor Smith to create “Adventures in Health” in late 2018 which broadens the supportive reach and compassion he has for all those who are struggling with debilitating injuries and illnesses.

Mark Nelson: Podcast Co-Host

Mark has worked as an actor, writer and story teller throughout his adult life, and even before that.

His first job as a teenager was writing for Joan Rivers, Pat Paulsen and other comedians. He was taught the craft by his father, a TV writer and producer with an enormous list of credits including the Tonight Show, The Fresh Prince of Belair and Married with Children, to name a few.

As a teenager, Mark appeared in Welcome Back Kotter, and several TV pilots. Mark caught the writing bug and entered the advertising industry, winnings ADDYs, an ECHO and other awards for numerous Fortune 500 companies and non-profit clients.

But just as he had established himself in this career, his life took an unexpected turn.

Mark discovered another ability as an adult

He discovered he had astounding psychic abilities, and won a Psychic Medium competition for FOXTV. This helped him launch a new career as psychic medium, healer, and paranormal investigator. This led to appearances on ABC’s 2020, Chelsey Lately, ENews, Syfy’s Ghost Hunters, Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventurers, and introduced Mark to the production side of television.

Along the way, Mark did psychic readings for Sean Entin and Thai Starkovich. Through this work, they became friends and business partners, working together on the Adventures in Health podcast, television program, plus non-profit work for veteran organizations.

Mark comes from a military family, with generations of relatives serving in the Army, Marines, Coast Guard and Navy. This has made him especially sensitive to the needs of veterans, and the enormity of their sacrifice to our country. This was enormous factor in deciding to join the Adventures in Health team.

Dr. Jason Wersland – Founder of Theragun

Dr. Jason Wersland: Creator of Theragun, Chiropractor

Jason worked on his family’s farm, and later in the construction business, where he learned to work with his hands, and became an award-winning master craftsman.

From an early age, Jason knew that he wanted to help people become healthier. Following his gut, he moved to California and enrolled in chiropractor’s school.

While working toward his degree in 2008, he was injured on his motorcycle, and faced chronic, debilitating pain.

In 2008, he went searching for a therapy that could provide the pain relief, and saw potential in a vibrational tool. But it needed improvement. In his work shed, Jason modified a power-tool to drive a cushioned attachment, and percussive therapy took a dramatic step forward. This hacked-together device became the first prototype for Theragun. In focusing on the Theragun, Jason faced a perfect storm of issues. After several false starts, Jason met his current new partner, Ben Nazarian. Together officially launched Theragun in 2016, and have continued to improve the Theragun device.

Through his work, Jason found that the Theragun has been enormously helpful to veterans dealing with pain and stress. He began giving them to veterans, and is now thrilled to be part of the Adventures in Health team.

Ryan Damon

Ryan Damon: Producer & Fitness Expert

A proven fitness and wellness industry executive, Ryan recently served as VP of Global Sales & Marketing for TRX. Ryan’s passion for athletics drew him to the wellness industry, and his desire to better himself kept him there.

An adventurous childhood riddled with blows to the head were big contributors to the concussion snowball building inside his head. During high school, he had at least 20 concussions, plus, at least six more throughout his twenties. Together they slowly began to rot him from the inside out.

It was a seemingly small bump to the back of his head in March of 2012 that nearly cost him his life. Unable to walk, talk, move, process or express himself like “normal”, Ryan went down the traditional path for TBI & severe PCS/PTSD recovery. After 4 neurologists, 2 pain specialists, 2 psychiatrists and 1 suicide attempt, he was still living in pain every day and a growing list of toxic addictions, mostly prescribed by doctors.

Everything changed for Ryan when he found hope in a set of alternative, non-invasive, non-FDA approved therapies. These proved to be the catalyst to get him off 22 pills a day and onto a track to achieving health and happiness, for the first time in over two decades.  It was his new approach to life that led Ryan to Sean and to the mission of Adventures in Health.
